About Privacy Score

Privacy Score is built by Skander Bahri, an independent iOS developer based in Bordeaux, France, after a single 2024 story: reporters at Wired and 404 Media bought a commercial advertising dataset, and inside it they identified 26 Secret Service agents guarding the White House. No leak. No hack. A legal data-broker purchase, powered by ordinary advertising signals on ordinary iPhones. That story made the point uncomfortably clear: the privacy problem on a 2024 iPhone wasn’t a spy agency, it was the ad-tech industry operating perfectly legally. The fix, if there was one, had to come from individual users tightening their own iPhones, one permission at a time.

What CoDevelop is

CoDevelop is a one-person micro-studio registered in France, run by Skander. It exists to make honest privacy tools that don’t ask you to trust them on faith. The pattern most privacy apps land on is uncomfortable: they read your data, route it through their servers, and promise they won’t keep anything. You have to believe them. CoDevelop is built on a different premise, that the only credible privacy promise is the one you can verify by reading the source code.

What Privacy Score refuses to do

Privacy Score does one thing: it reads Apple’s native App Privacy Report, cross-references the domains against the open DuckDuckGo Tracker Radar database, computes a score out of 100, and surfaces three to five concrete fixes ranked by how many points they earn back. That’s it.

Three things it refuses to do, on purpose:

• No server. Zero backend infrastructure. Your privacy report stays on your iPhone, inside the iOS sandbox.
• No account. No sign-up, no email, no password. Nothing about your usage can be tied back to you, because nothing about your usage is collected.
• No analytics. No Firebase, no Sentry, no Amplitude, no “anonymized” usage reporting (which is rarely as anonymized as the marketing copy suggests).

You don’t have to take our word for any of this. The iOS source code is public on GitHub. A search for URLSession, the standard Apple class for making network requests, returns zero active calls. The promise is verifiable.

Why the first scan is free for life

Trust before money. If we charged a subscription before you’d ever seen the app work, you’d be picking us based on marketing claims. We don’t want that. The first time you import an App Privacy Report and read your score, that audit is free for life, and stays accessible on your iPhone for as long as you keep the app installed. You see the value, then you decide whether to keep auditing yourself regularly.

The paid tier is €23.88 per year or €20.94 per six months, billed by Apple. That’s our only source of revenue. No advertising, no data resale, no partner commissions.
